My vision for my sony alpha female plus grant would be to showcase our local non-profit dance group in a series called Ballet Folklorico un historia entre Baliando | History through Ballet Folklorico. This grant would allow me to further express my knowledge and skill of OCF and further my video portfolio with enhanced equipment. I aspire to be able to catalog what goes into getting your hair and make up ready, putting on an outfit, basic dance steps, and regional dances through both photography and videography.

My grand plan is to showcase two of my greatest passions in this life; the photographic and dance art forms. From a very young age I have loved to do both things and to this day continue to share those passions with my son. I plan on taking these heirloom portraits in-studio for a very classic and professional look at the dancers in their wardrobe and then taking the dancers out through the city at night and photographing how the culture of the older traditions mesh with the lights of our city of Tulsa in the background; to show how we became to represent these stories of our ancestors through all the noise of the present day.

My plan of action to execute this dream and turning it into reality in just a few short weeks is laid out below, starting with my project planner showing a plan of action from the time I am notified of award through release date. I plan on working through dance portraits and video clips during the first two weeks of the project, I envision dancers in the city streets, in a mirrored studio room, and the all rounded classic headshot. For the video segment I want to be able to portray the fundamental steps of Ballet Folklorico and being able to capture sequences of different regional dances. The third week will be for portrait and video editing as well as finishing up our full length article.

As a result I hope to achieve a catalog of the dresses and a collection of heirloom portraits of the dancers, to accompany that will be a full length video of roughly 5-8 mins long explaining the dresses and showcasing the dancers performing. This project is something that I am very passionate about and hope to be able to have it come to fruition.
