There are many times clients ask why purchasing prints through their professional photographer is a much better option that a print-it-yourself or DIY option that may cost less. With there being many, and I mean MANY low-cost options for anyone with the average smartphone these days, to have their digital images printed in any variety of manners; I do hope you’ll consider our top four reasons before making a decision on your families heirlooms.

The perfect crop

Many of us (because we’re humans) have found our selves there, glossy eyed over the Walgreen photo-center screen with USB in hand. Not giving a second thought that we might have to crop an image although most of the time standard print sizes are like finding jeans where the aspect ratio, your width and height differ from the actual photograph coming from your camera and the image you see on your screen. This means you find yourself with part’s of our precious image’s top, bottom, and sides all clipped off in the final print production - only leading to frustration. Fret not, for there is a great art to cropping a portrait for print! May you rest assured when printing with us we will retain the intended composition and preserve the artistic value of your photographs.

Color-accuracy

When editing your portraits, believe me or not, professionals spend an incredible amount of time working to get the perfect color we had envisioned for each photograph, and although it can be a painstaking process, it’s worth every moment of it. In addition to making sure your images have the correct color, we have taken the time and spent considerable resources in developing a strong bond and relationship with our print lab. By doing this I can ensure you of their materials, printing process, how to colors we see on the screen translate to colors on physical prints, and making sure the in’s and out’s of their materials are sustainable, Eco friendly, and archival quality. Something you won’t experience with consumer printers; all prints ordered through the studio are calibrated and tweaked to preserve their integrity.

Lets face it, there are an overwhelming (and growing) number of consumer grade printers that are eager for your canvas, wood, or press book order. Each one telling you they are the one, not to give up online printing quite yet.
